The National Security Sector at Leidos is looking for a Main Training Facility Training Manager that will provide management and oversight of the Law Enforcement Training component of the Center for Domestic Preparedness (CDP) training offered at the Main Training Facility (MTF) and the Advance Responder Training Center (ARTC). Develops strategic plans for the MTF and ARTC usage and contributes to the strategic plan of the organization.

Your Main Mission:

Primary Responsibilities

  • Reviews instructor qualification rosters and initiates communication with course managers regarding changes as indicated.

  • Communicates with Centralized Scheduling as needed to resolve conflicts related to instructor assignment.

  • Supports and directs cross training of instructional staff to maximize instructor resources and the overall training experience for student responders.

  • Counsels assigned employees/consultants periodically as indicated and necessary.

  • Provides written documentation of the issues and recommended action for personnel file.

  • Supports Employee Recognition Program by formulating recommendations for instructional and support teams quarterly awards and encouraging spot award recommendations from course managers.

  • Mentors new course managers/assistant course managers.

  • Ensures that all assigned employees are provided with professional development opportunities consistent with the individual’s needs as well as those of the organization.

  • Plans and conducts weekly course manager meetings to ensure timely communication and resolution of issues within the MTF and ARTC operations.

  • Conducts visitor tours as required

  • Works closely with the Professional Development Manager to ensure an adequate instructor pool to meet training delivery requests.

  • The Training Manager is responsible for conducting annual evaluations of all direct reports to ensure continued professional growth.

  • Reviews annual evaluations prepared by course managers to ensure consistency and fairness in the evaluation process.

  • Reviews instructor qualification rosters and initiates communication with course managers regarding changes as indicated.

  • Periodically evaluates training delivery and recommends changes as indicated.

  • Works closely with staff and subcontractors to coordinate and ensure technical accuracy of course delivery.

  • The Training Manager works closely with the Curriculum Manager in the development of medical and healthcare issues courses.

  • Reviews and analyzes course outcomes to include weekly After Action Reports, ongoing Quality Analysis/Quality Control of courses, and annual curriculum reviews. Develops, reviews, and revises policies pertaining to training delivery.

  • Effectively manages course managers, resident instructors, consultants, and support staff assigned to the Law Enforcement component of CDP training.

  • Provides supportive documentation of evaluation decisions.

  • Develops, reviews, and revises policies pertaining to personnel management.Selects, interviews, and recommends the selection of employees and consultants for the MTF/ARTC component of CDP training.

  • Seeks approval of the Project Manager (PM) on hiring decisions.

  • Maintains knowledge base as a subject matter expert in discipline.

  • Works effectively with management team and is respectful of colleagues and subordinates.

  • Adheres to and enforces company policies and procedures; meets established deadlines.

  • Demonstrates a commitment to continued professional growth and development.

  • Accepts constructive criticism and is receptive to changes in the work environment.

  • Travels in support of position requirements.

  • It is desired that the Training Manager instruct, lecture, or facilitate practical exercises within area of expertise as schedule permits. This must be demonstrated within the last 3 years of practice.

  • Performs other duties as assigned and as necessary for effective operations.

What Sets You Apart:

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Law Enforcement or other similar discipline and extensive (10+) years related experience, including 5+ years of administration/management/supervisory experience is required.

  • Ten years’ experience in area providing knowledge of public health, healthcare or emergency medical response occupation in a community environment.

  • Working international knowledge of or familiar with the coordination of field concepts, practices, exercises and standard operating procedures as it relates to emergency incident response(s) involving all response disciplines.

  • Functional knowledge of the National Response Framework, National Incident Management System (NIMS), Hospital Incident Command System (HICS) and the tiered response of an incident of national importance.

  • Proficient in project management and computer programs such as Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, database software, and email systems.

  • Excellent organizational, verbal, written communication and presentation skills

  • Demonstrated capability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines.

  • Ability to establish working relationships with diverse groups.

  • Ability to work independently, organizes work projects, and completes tasks within assigned timeframes.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, especially as it pertains to sensitive materials.

  • Team player with a positive attitude.

  • Must be located within a one-hour drive of Anniston, Alabama, the location of the CDP.

  • Must have an accepted form of government-issued ID compliant with the Real ID Act

  • Must submit to and obtain final suitability by successful completion of a pre-placement screening consisting of background check, financial institutions/credit bureau check, and disclosure under the Freedom of Information Act.

You Might Also Have:

  • Master’s degree preferred.

  • 10+ years administration/management/supervisory experience

  • Possess teaching certification/teaching degree strongly preferred.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $78,000.00 - $141,000.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline onlyand not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
