Leidos is seeking a Morale Integration Manager with the proven ability to successfully collaborate and coordinate with project managers and program stakeholders to improve the morale, recreation, and professional growth strategies across the ASC program focusing on USAP deployed locations. In addition, the candidate should have the ability to plan and execute community engagement initiatives, including strategy, component goals and thought leadership to advance morale objectives.

The ASC Morale Integration Manager reports to the Antarctic Support Contract (ASC) McMurdo Area Manager. The candidate will be developing and executing various morale improvement projects on the Leidos ASC program which supports the National Science Foundation (NSF). The NSF is responsible for the operations and redevelopment of three geographically remote research stations in Antarctica and one marine research vessel.

* Deployment to Antarctica may be required at the discretion of management (up to 20 weeks / year). The individual in the position must successfully complete the physical and dental examinations as required by the NSF for deploying to Antarctica. Failure to meet these requirements may result in withdrawal of employment offer or other employment action. *

Due to contract requirements, US Citizenship is required.

Must obtain a Public Trust security clearance prior to start date. This process could take up to 4 months.

About the Antarctic Support Contract:

Leidos Antarctic Support Contract (ASC) is the prime contractor to the National Science Foundation (NSF) in support of the United States Antarctic Program (USAP). Leidos supports the NSF’s Office of Polar Program’s Antarctic Infrastructure and Logistics by aligning with their Mission and Vision Statements:

  • Vision: Expanding our scientific reach in Antarctica through increased operational and logistical effectiveness.

  • Mission: To provide the operational and logistical platform necessary for the U.S. to conduct world-class science in Antarctica and maintain its active and influential presence on the continent.

Leidos ASC provides science and logistics support for approximately 150 science and technical events across three geographically remote research stations; McMurdo Station, Palmer Station, and South Pole Station and several deep field sites across Antarctica. Each station or field site supports world class research across multiple science disciplines. The planning and implementation of science support requirements in Antarctica is a critical part of our mission.

The Challenge:

  • Provide support and expertise in planning, tailoring, managing, executing, and documenting morale strategies and initiatives.

  • Develop, plan, and implement standard operating procedures for morale initiatives and program morale and welfare needs.

  • Establish process improvement plans and gather lessons learned from stakeholders.

  • Interface with executive leadership, functional leaders, subcontractors, and technical subject matter experts to develop and implement morale initiatives and strategies.

  • Deliver strong, proactive leadership while engaging multi-discipline teams to create effective morale programs.

  • Foster a sense of community and belonging among team members through organized social events, team-building activities, and inclusive initiatives.

  • Create and manage wellness programs addressing the physical, mental, and emotional health needs of the workforce.

  • Present and facilitate briefings, host discussions such as employee focus groups, and other morale-related activities.

  • Advise the customer, area managers, and department leads on recommended strategies, highlighting strengths and weaknesses of various approaches.

  • Gather, document, review, and approve requirements per program standards.

  • Efficiently manage resources and budgets allocated for morale and well-being initiatives.

  • Serve as a liaison between employees and management, ensuring transparent and effective communication.

  • Manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Perform onsite reviews of current station climate/culture and possess the interpersonal skills necessary to interact and connect with USAP participants.

What Sets You Apart:

  • BA/BS or equivalent experience and 8+ years of prior relevant experience.

  • Demonstration of successful project execution that includes multiple external and internal customers

  • Understanding of logistics and experience with the challenges of supporting remote locations

  • Strong skills in communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills to work effectively with multiple disciplines, domains, contractors, government agencies and other stakeholders.

  • Proven ability to build and maintain lasting customer relationships, external stakeholder networks, and teaming partnerships

Pay Range:

Pay Range $87,100.00 - $157,450.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline onlyand not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
