Description
This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience helping the U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) Enterprise Development, Application,
and Training (EDAT) mission. In this mission we are focused on providing innovative, data-driven solutions and enterprise architecture enhancements to enable seamless operations across USSOCOM's global network. The program emphasizes rapid development and deployment of technologies to enhance the mobility and readiness of Special Operations Forces (SOF) in both combat and non-combat scenarios. Key tasks include program management, application development, training support, and technology integration to maintain USSOCOM's operational edge. The EDAT program underscores agility and adaptability, ensuring SOF professionals have access to the information and tools they need to meet evolving mission requirements.
Primary Responsibilities:
Design and oversee the implementation of software and IT solutions that align with the EDAT program’s requirements and long-term mission objectives.
Develop detailed system architectures that meet both functional and technical requirements, ensuring scalability, security, and efficiency.
Work closely with stakeholders to understand user needs and translate them into actionable system designs and architectures.
Ensure that all solutions align with mission objectives, project regulations, and DoD standards.
Lead cross-functional teams in the development, integration, and deployment of solutions, ensuring seamless interoperability of all components.
Provide technical guidance to engineering, development, and operations teams, ensuring solutions are implemented securely and efficiently.
Monitor system performance, identifying areas for optimization to improve efficiency and meet evolving project demands.
Recommend and implement architectural adjustments to enhance reliability, scalability, and cost-efficiency.
Provide regular updates to leadership on the status of solution development, identifying risks and proposing mitigation strategies.
Document and communicate architectural decisions to ensure transparency and alignment across the program.
Ensure all architectural designs and implementations adhere to DoD regulations, including DISA STIG, NIST 800-53, and RMF.
Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to integrate security controls and best practices into all solutions.
Evaluate emerging technologies and methodologies to recommend improvements and innovations that enhance project outcomes.
Stay updated on industry trends and integrate new tools and approaches to advance program capabilities.
Basic Qualifications:
Typically requires BS degree and 8 – 12 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6 – 10 years of prior relevant experience. May possess a Doctorate in technical domain-(This is for T4)
Typically requires BS and 4 – 8 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 2 – 6 years of prior relevant experience. (This is for T3) depending on level you would need.
Relevant certifications, such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or TOGAF Certification- I would narrow this down to what is required according to the PWS not just say relevant certs Would state Specific certs if we don’t have, Relevant certs is too broad of a term in this industry.
10+ years of experience in solution architecture, system design, or related roles, with a focus on large-scale IT environments.
Proven track record of designing and delivering secure, scalable, and compliant IT solutions in enterprise or government settings.
Expertise in architectural frameworks, such as TOGAF or Zachman, and system integration methodologies.
Strong proficiency in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure), containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), and automation tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
Must possess a Top Secret (TS) clearance with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams and collaborate with diverse stakeholders to achieve program goals.
Strong communication skills for presenting complex solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Preferred Qualifications:
Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
Security certifications, such as CISSP, CCSP, or CompTIA Security+, are highly desirable.-SEC+ and CISSP are in diff categories based on level IAT II is SEC + IAT III is CISSP and up, generally its either or not both.
Familiarity with USSOCOM’s operational requirements and the SOF Information Environment (SIE).
Previous experience in designing solutions for DoD programs with stringent compliance and security requirements.
Knowledge of microservices architecture, serverless computing, and AI/ML integration.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $85,150.00 - $153,925.00
